[edit] Editorial Content Policies

The policies outlined in this section are an addition to our Terms and Conditions and define the Matchpoint content policies in regards to all user contributed content including but not limited to ads, listings, business details, photos, reviews, and any other content provided or uploaded.

We reserve the right to review, edit, and remove any content that we feel violates our policies. We also reserve the right to suspend campaigns, ads, or accounts that are in violation of our policies.

[edit] Academic Aids

  • We do not allow content that promotes test-taking services or academic paper-writing services that provide custom pre-written papers.

[edit] Alcohol

  • Matchpoint does not allow content promoting any forms of alcohol at this time.

[edit] Astrology/Psychic/Horoscope

  • Ads must state that these services are for entertainment purposes only.

[edit] Copyright

  • Do not promote or use copyrighted content without permission.

[edit] Counterfeit Designer Goods

  • Content is not permitted for replicas or imitations of designer products. A replica may contain the trademark of a designer but was not manufactured by that brand.

[edit] Dialers

  • No content is allowed that promotes dialers.

[edit] Drug & Drug Related Paraphernalia

  • Advertising is not permitted for the promotion of drugs and/or drug related paraphernalia.

[edit] Fake Documents

  • Content is not allowed for false documents such as Driver Licenses, Social Security Cards, and Diplomas etc.

[edit] Fireworks

  • Advertisements for the sale of fireworks are not allowed.

[edit] "Free"

Basically, if you use the word free the product or service must be free to the user with no purchase required.

[edit] Gambling

  • Content is not permitted for any online gambling, casinos and gambling activities.

[edit] Hacking

  • Advertisements that promote hacking and tools that aid in copyright infringement or the stealing of pay for services.

[edit] Pharmaceutical

  • Pharmaceutical companies must be based in the United States.
  • Online pharmacy advertisers must be members of the PharmacyChecker Licensed Pharmacy Program.
  • Content must be for products that are approved by the FDA
  • Content may not state an expected result or guarantee
  • Content may not promote a ‘cure’
  • Dietary supplement claims must be backed by substantiated scientific or clinical evidence.
  • Weight loss advertisements may not be targeted to teens or children

[edit] Phishing/Scams

  • Content is not allowed for the promotion of sites collecting sensitive personal information or money with fake forms or claims.

[edit] Promotions and Sweepstakes

  • Ads can not state that they are endorsed by a government entity.
  • Chance based promotions can not require purchase to participate.
  • Ads can not state that the consumer is already a winner or state claims that all consumers who enter will win.
  • Ads can not imply that clicking on the ad makes the consumer an ‘instant winner’

[edit] Misleading or Deceptive

  • Content may not state any misleading or deceptive claims.
  • Content may not contain any functionality such as fake close buttons.
  • Content may not mimic Widows/Mac/Unix alerts or dialog boxes.
  • Promote or contain viruses, worms or corrupted files.
  • You can not add or promote a ficticious business
  • You can not add urls that point to pages that simply aggregate links or exist for the sole purpose of displaying advertisements or paid text links

[edit] Mobile Phone Subscription Services

  • All content must state clearly and accurately the prices, subscription and cancellation information.

[edit] Pornography

  • Matchpoint does not allow any advertisement containing or promoting pornography.

[edit] Racy or Sexual Content

  • Adult related content or content that is suggestive or ‘racy’ is not allow in any content.
  • Content may not contain any obscene, profane, libelous or slanderous text or images

[edit] Refractive Eye Care Surgery

[edit] Software Downloads

  • Software downloads must be user initiated after the initial click on content.
  • The content must state clearly that they consumer will be asked to download an application and how to uninstall the download.

[edit] Solicitation of Funds

  • Only government registered 501c(3) charities may solicit funds in their content. The content must display the tax-exempt status clearly.

[edit] Tobacco

  • Content is not permitted for promotion of any tobacco or tobacco related products.

[edit] Violence

  • Matchpoint does not allow any content that promotes or advocates violence. Content advocating against any organization, person or group of people is not permitted.

[edit] Weapons

  • Content promoting weapons are not permitted. This includes but is not limited to firearms, ammunition, switchblades and knives.

[edit] Landing Pages

Landing pages pointed to by ads or content that you provide for inclusion on our web sites must not violate any terms of provisons of any agreements that you have agreed to. In addition, your landing pages must:

  • Contain substantial content relevant to the category or page on our site that it is linked from
  • Not be under construction, under development, or in the process of being constructed or developed
  • Not exist for the sole purpose of displaying advertisements
  • Not contain any copyrighted material that you are not the owner or or have license to distribute
